Summer 2024  Workshops

No prior musical experience is necessary for any of the summer workshops!

Song Creator 101 $30.00

• A song-writing workshop for ages 7+

• Thursday, June 20th, 4-6 pm

• Students will be inspired to think creatively about their own song ideas and use what we learn to create melody and accompanying music.

• We will learn about “melody”, “rhyming”, and “hooks” to build strong “lyrics” and  look at the structure of a song: “Verse- Chorus- Bridge” through examples in familiar songs.

• We will use our creativity and instrumental skills to create accompaniments to melodies.

• We will put it all together and create a group song!

Festival of Fairytales $55.00 (partial workshop $40.00/ sibling rate $40.00)

• A 4-week, vocal workshop for ages 4-8

• 4 Tuesdays: July 16th, 23rd, Aug. 13th, and 20th, 4:30 pm- 5:15 pm

• We will be immersed in the land of fairytales as we explore vocal range, pitch and voice health as well as rhythm notation, song structure and much more through singing, musical theatre, dance and games.

Rhythm Masters Workshop $20.00

• Ages 6+

• Thursday, August 15th, 4:30pm- 5:30pm

• We will use hand drums to beat out rhythms, from the simplest to crazy fast and complicated!

• We will learn how to play Boomwhackers (pitched plastic tubes) and challenge ourselves to keep the beat with familiar songs.

Musical Me $80.00 (partial workshop $65.00/ sibling rate $65.00)

• A 6-week introduction to voice and instrumental music for ages 4-6

• 6 Wednesdays: June 19th, 26th, July 17th, 31st, August 7th and 14th, 5:30 pm-6:15 pm

• We will learn about the 4 instrument families and explore examples from each (voice, drums and various percussion instruments, piano, guitar, ukulele, dulcimer and recorder) as well as  learn basic rhythm and music notation through songs, games and activities.
